The Shimmer Effect is an online project conceived between two independent music producers who randomly met on looperman.com and began collaborating ideas.Post their first project it was clear that they should align their skills to leave a universal footprint as one entity. Stephen Mullarkey aka Salook (UK) and Sjanine Steyn aka The PantherLab (SA), both individuals in their own right, are self-styled independent music creators/producers/arrangers. Their song INNOVATORS was considered better than 83% of music submitted to MusicXray and 80% of listeners gave the track a YES!

The PantherLab is Sjanine Steyn, who hails from Pretoria, South Africa.
She has been involved in quite a few projects over the past 10 years in various bands and genres from folk, to rock in Afrikaans and English, to experimental instrumental digital music and online collaborations. Tough cookie this one!

Nightowl, the elusive and mysterious member of the virtual band The X-Structure, had released 2 solo albums in 2004 and 2005 before joining The X-Structure in 2008. In 2011 he re-released these two albums through Bushmen Records along with 3 previously unreleased albums collectively known as "the lost songs of nightowl". His influence in the works of The X-Structure can be heard throughout his solo collection.
For the purposes of these releases he changed his name to sir nightowl in order to avoid any confusion with all the other nightowls out there.

The X-Structure

The X-Structure are one of the first virtual bands to come out of South Africa and also the first artist to join Bushmen Records.
Hailing from the Cape of Good Hope, on the southern point of Africa, and formed in 2008, this band of intrepid adventurers and musicians continue to explore both the physical and virtual corners of the world, bringing back their discoveries for your listening pleasure.
Their musical mood and style range from Trip-Hop to Breakbeats, from Experimental to Orchestral, although they don't confine themselves to any particular style or genre but go wherever the music and the adventure takes them.
Having released two albums prior to joining Bushmen Records they are set on creating many more from the inspiration found all around them.
